Andrew Aragon has signed with York College. On his recruiting visit, Aragon Bombed a 50' 6 with a college Shot Put. His big frame is only matched by his big heart. I am excited to watch this young man grow and develop not only into a better throw

Our first event will be the men's and women's Shot Put: 11:00, both Shaylee and Aaron will be in the first flight of their events.

Meet info for the NCCAA Indoor Nationals:
We will be staying in the Comfort Suites in Marion, In for Indoor Nationals this weekend.
There are some major changes from last year's outdoor schedule to this year's. We will most likely be travelling to Emporia State University Early in the season. NAIA nationals are later in the season this year, which changed a lot of things
Shaylee at the Concordia Invite last weekend. She will be competing again in 1.5 weeks at Concordia in Seward, NE.
Aaron Beadle at Concordia University in Nebraska. Aaron will be competing at Nationals in 2 and half weeks.
Danny at Concordia on Jan. 29th, 2011. He had his second fastest time, even with a "not so good" start.
Sam Mwago in the Concordia Invite on Jan. 29th. Sam ran a PR of 7.51. He is getting ready for the Indoor national championship in Marion, IN.
Kawika running another PR in the 60m dash. He was second in his heat and almost made the finals. He will be running at nationals in two weeks.
We will take a small handful of athletes to the Nebraska Invite this weekend. The others will take a much needed rest before gearing up for NCCAA nationals.

The first Indoor track meet will be this weekend (Friday and Saturday) at UNLincoln. We will be competing with 6 to 7 athletes. The meet info is on this link.

This is a great video of the men's race. I didn't get the idea for this until after the women's race ended.
Four killed in I-80 accident
331 women starting at the 2010 NAIA national cross country meet. If you look close, you can see Karissa and Jordan in the middle of the course after the field passes the tree.

The girls had a great race yesterday. It was a nice day with very muddy conditions (it rained for the last 3 days). Here are the results:

Karissa had a great start in this race. She ran her second fastest time even after putting herself into Oxygen debt.
Beautiful day on Saturday. It was raining and cold in York but sunny and 70 degrees in Ohio. The men ran their final race of the season.
NCCAA nationals, Men's results: Jake had the race of his life along with JC (second runner on the day). James had another solid race (just a few seconds off of his PR (This is Jame's final XC race as a Panther). Kellan also had a fantastic r
NCCAA nationals, Women's results: Karissa had a great race with a fast start. She's gearing up for a fast start next Saturday at NAIA nationals. She was 66th place overall.
We will be racing in Cedarville, OH tomorrow at the NCCAA national meet. Karissa will be competing at 10am and five men will be competing at 11am (Jake, Kellan, JC, James and Troy).

Exeter-Milligan beats Sutherland in 3 sets to move one step closer to repeat State Title.
This is a great video of the guys working together. They really gelled as a team toward the end of the year.
1st team all-conference: Karissa Austin and Jordan Mestas. 2nd team all-conference: Kameryn Brewster.
Women at Haskell. We had a very nice day. The women ran well, qualifying two for NAIA nationals.
The men had a great race, with at least 2 PR's on the day.
Roger's first team at YC. 1996.
1998 cc team.
We had about 35 people show up for the inaugural "Roger's Run." We shared a few stories, some scripture and a prayer. We will try to do one of these runs each year, most likely on the Fall High School days.
Men's cross country start. There were about 205 men in this race. It was very windy form the South. YC was 18th out of 20 teams.
171 women finished this race in Winfield, KS. It rained all night, the night before the race. We had fun staying with people from the Derby Church of Christ. We also had a nice meal at the Derby C of C building. People from the Peck C of C joined in
Roger, teaching.
It's pretty crazy at the start of a large cross country Invite. Especially when there are over 300 athletes. You can't see it, but a couple of guys went down on the turn.

Coach Carver with the Indoor track team. Holthus Field House is an incredible indoor training facility that was provided by the Holthus family. It gets us through the winter.

Sprinters like Darreon can stay in great shape throughout the winter because of Holthus Field House.
Doug Moore was a High School track coach in Washington before coming to us this year.
Kawika came to us from Hawaii. I think coach Carver and I need to do a couple of recruiting trips to his home town every year. What do you think Steve? :)
We do many different core exercises in order to strengthen muscles that we have never used before. Balancing on the Physio- ball is one of the most important techniques.
