The last Washington County team standing at the District B3 Senior tourney is . . . Fort Calhoun?!? That's right! The Pioneers shut down, shut out and all-around shocked Blair 1-0 on Monday evening, behind the pitching of AJ Ryan and Dex Jensen.
Pretty exciting start to District tourney for Blair seniors, as they won 5-4 on a walk-off hit by Mitch Macek in the bottom of the seventh inning against Plattsmouth. Ryan Garder got the win in relief, and also went 3-for-4 at the plate, with three RBIs.

Blair girls finish tied for 11th in the final girls Class B standings with 19 points. Arlington ties for 15th with 16 points and Fort Calhoun has 11 for 28th place. Fillmore Central is the B champion with 56 points.
Updated team scoring shows Blair now in fourth place in the boys Class B team race with 30 points, behind Boys Town (65.5), Aurora (45) and McCook (36). Aurora took second through fourth places in the long jump and McCook had the winner in Matthew Chitwo

Brandon Rogers of Blair earns a 7th-place medal in the Class B boys pole vault at a height of 14 feet even. Blair's Jake Krueger finishes 11th after clearing 13 feet. Craig Driver of Minden vaults 15-6 to win the event.
After 7 events, the Blair boys are tied for 5th in Class B with 12 points. The Blair girls are tied for 9th in B with 10 points.

Blair's girls 400-meter relay team finishes a very close third in Class B in the event. The team of Makenzie Zima, Courtney Wrich, Bene Bicaba and Michelle Trulin completed the race in 49.91 seconds, just .22 second behind champion Beatrice.
Charlie Bloomfield of Blair and Kellon Johnson of Fort Calhoun both compete in the boys Class B 800 meters, but neither can crack the medal standings.
